Morning Friends ~~

No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope and fear;
But grateful take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
~~ John G. Whittier
Morning Friends ~~
Spent yesterday,working hard putting away
Christmas and setting the Cabin back to Simple Country.
I'm a little late and a little behind schedule...but I've been sick.
Got the dreaded cold ~~flu so I've been down and out since
New Years Day. You know the saying five days
coming, five days here, and five days going. I think
I'm on the last of five days going, Finger Crossed.

Been getting lots of rest, soup, plenty of juice, tea, and cold tablets.
DH has been a sweetie keeping me company, taking
care of keeping me hydrated, feed, in tissues & getting me

my med's on time. I'm just about feeling like I belong
back among the living, I still look awful...my nose is all
sore and red, my hair is a little dull,
and I'm a little weak...... but other than that all is good.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I lazed around, with not much energy
I have been planning a
redo of our dreaded office in my head.
DH said he's up for a project so I best come
up with something fast. :-)
Years ago in one of the country magazines, not positive
which one but I think Country Decorating,
Country Accents, or Country Collectibles there was an article
and a picture of a cupboard some gentlemen made for his office,
it sorta looked like an apothecary with a fake drawer front...it
was very neat, and old looking and kept all office
necessities out of sight.
I've had this picture in my mind for years,
but cant find the magazine.
I've asked all my friends & family ... some remember it,
but don't have the issue.
Anyone out in Blog land remember this article ??
I think it may have been about eight or ten years ago.
Normally I can come with a drawing of something I
want built or can plan a room with no problem,
this time I'm stuck, so if you can .... Please........HELP !!!
Cleaning out a drawer I just found this, its
a cartoon given to us years ago
by our dear friend Ray
it reads ~~~
"They're a Perfect Match.....she's
High Maintenance, and he can
Fix Anything. "
LOL ~~ As the kids say......True That !!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you are all well, keeping warm & happy.
Sending Air Hugs (just to be on the safe side) ~~ Connie xox

I've been wondering about you....I'm so glad your on the mend. It's terrible being sick. Glad hubby is taking care of you. And how exciting about a new office! I don't know the article you are talking about unfortunately but would love to see it if you ever obtain it. I have a friend that just bought an old apothecary for her office and it is just wonderful. If I can I'll send you a picture.

Get better and enjoy this lovely snowy day! Warmly ~ Jenn

Hi Connie.......glad to hear that you are starting to feel better.
What a trooper you are........as you lie there in your weakened state here you are dreaming and designing a project! That cupboard sounds nice, sorry I can't help you either, don't remember ever seeing such a piece. I'm sure you will come up with something.
Take care,

Hi Connie,

I am glad to hear you are feeling more human finally. I have never heard "five days coming, five days here, and five days going". I always heard and was taught in nursing school "your cold / flu will last 7-10 days whether you treat it or not". And that has usually been the case for me until this year as the cold I started before Christmas definitely followed the "five days
coming, five days here, and five days going" route so thank you for that - now I feel better knowing it wasn't just me!

I am about 99.9% sure I know exactly the picture in your mind! Was it graduated in height? The one in my mind is! I just looked through all the pictures in my folders that I have saved over the years because I was sure I had it, but no luck! Phooey!! In case you need more time to find it and if you are not quite ready to start a new project but your hubby is, feel free to send him up here - I can keep him busy with projects until you are 100%! I'll tell you uwhat, I'll even send him home with quarts of soup for you!! :-)

Feel all the way better soon! warm hugs, Linda

Connie ~ So sorry to hear that you were feeling poorly...glad to hear that you are on the road to repair. Take life slowly...rest, eat chicken soup, rest, have a cup of hot cocoa, rest, read a good book, and REST.
Be well soon....
Gentle hugs,

Hi Connie,
So sorry to hear you've been under the weather but glad you're on the mend. We're still freezing here in sunny FL but the temps are getting a few degrees warmer each day.
You might want to call our mutual friend about the picture of the desk. She remembers everything that's in every one of those magazines!
Take care,
Joanne

I hope you feel better soon. I have it too, but mostly at the weak stage, so I can do things, just not too much.

Well that's a heckuva way to start the New Year with being sick! No fun at all!! It's good to hear you are once again among the living, now it's my turn I guess!
I'm afraid I don't know the picture you are describing but I hope someone finds it because it sure sounds nifty!
I hope you continue to feel better!

Hope you feel better soon. Winter is so dark, the days are short and with no sun, it's easy to feel sick. I think I have that Winter thing, I can't get motivated.
I love the cartoon
So appropriate for me also
