Tuesday January 20, 2009 is Inauguration day, the day we swear in our 44th President.
It's the day our country comes together peacefully to transfer power from one President to another. It is also the day all Americans come together to wish President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden Good Luck and God's Blessings.

It is a day steeped in Honor and Tradition.

President Obama will place his right hand on the bible an take the oath of office ~~
He is actually using the same Bible Abraham Lincoln used ~~

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States.

AMEN! I pray that we can all come together, One Nation Under GOD! I also hope that parents with younger children will teach them about how special this day will be in our history.

About my antiquing trip, we had fun! There are plenty of shops downtown where I live with "stuff", we mostly go out to have an outing. I have so much "stuff" now, but it is fun to bring home a little something. I was so surprised how everthing changed on the way there! I also do not know why I never went back sooner! The shop was a true antique paradise though, I wish it had stayed the same, but I guess like people, over time everything changes in one way or another!

Wishing you a wonderful day! ♥

Hi Connie,
A really nice post. Is will be, indeed, a very special inauguration day for so many people.
Our fears of being foolish for planning our trip on this inauguration weekend were all for naught. To our surprise, we sailed through DC yesterday. Traffic was very light. Perhaps the throngs aren't arriving until Monday?
We are here in our cozy Best Western room in Savannah watching football for the night after driving through torrential downpours all day long.
We expect to be at our destination in Indian Harbour Beach tomorrow afternoon. Looking for some sunshine!!
Take care and keep in touch.
Joanne
